Thiago Silva wants a contract extension but negotiations have slowed down

On July of 2012 it was confirmed that Thiago Silva had completed his move from Ac.Milan to Paris Saint-Germain in a deal where the French club had to pay around €42 million in order to lure him to Parc des Princes and so far this transfer has not disappointed as the Brazilian player is the captain of the club and a consistent starter that almost always manages to make top performances.

Thiago Silva is 32 years old and he still manages to do world-class performances which has helped PSG in securing 4 domestic French league titles as well as a few other ones along the way and his contract expires in the next summer but the experienced player wants to extend his contract beyond what it currently has stipulated in it.

The Brazilian defender has recently revealed information about his current situation in PSG as he voiced his desire to continue performing with PSG but that negotiations have for some reason really slowed down and he does not know why this is happening.

‘’It's not for me to decide, we need to talk, we started talking last year, at the end of the season, and after it stopped, I do not know why but I'm happy here, I want to stay, extend my contract. We need to talk with the president to know what we will do in the future’’ Thiago Silva said.

Paris Saint-Germain are currently trying to defend their Ligue 1 title and are currently positioned at the 3rd spot after having collected 20 points from their 10 opening matches of the season.

Thiago Silva wants to help PSG in their quest of not only defending the title but also win the Champions League which is something that he has never achieved with any of his clubs and at the age of 32, he is reaching the last few stages of his career and these remaining seasons might be his final opportunities to do it or at least reach the finals of the European competition and give it everything he has.
