SILVA PLEASED WITH RETURN

Thiago Silva was pleased on making his return to the main squad of PSG after suffering from a blow that left him injured and unable to play since September. He returned to PSG’s match against Nice when they overcame the Ligue 1 champions with a convincing 3-1 victory as the Swedish Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored a hat-trick.

"We played very well, we were very solid," Silva told the club's official website. It wasn't easy against Nice and the most important thing was to claim all three points. I am very happy to be back on the pitch. Now I'm off to join the Selecao’’.

"It's very tough with the national team because everyone wants to play, but only 23 players will be going to the World Cup. We have two friendly matches coming up and we will be looking to play well."

Following the sublime performance from Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the Brazilian defender went on saying that his partner deserves to win the Ballon d’Or as his latest showings displays his brilliance even comparing him to Lionel Messi and C.Ronaldo.

He told Sky Italia: “As a football fan I love Ibrahimovic. I’m sure that he will be in the top three for the Ballon d’Or. It will be difficult for him to win but I think he deserves it as he is performing better than Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.”

Thiago Silva and Zlatan Ibrahimovic both left Ac.Milan on 2012 and became pivotal figures for the French side and this was evidenced by the League title PSG obtained in the same season that the Brazilian defender and the Swedish forward joined the team.

Since the moment they both left Ac.Milan, the Italian team is going through difficult times as they have failed to find players that can fill in the gap left by Silva and Zlatan.
