The Champions League is considered to be the most prestigious piece of silverware that a club can win. It’s also an extremely difficult trophy to obtain as all the top European clubs compete against each trying to secure it and only the very best squads are the ones that manage to lift it.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has joined some of the biggest clubs from around the world including teams such as: Ac.Milan, Inter Milan, Juventus and Barcelona just to name a few of them. The Swedish attacker has won the domestic leagues of every club that he has joined but there is something that is missing from his repertoire and it’s the Champions League.

Ibrahimovic has already stated that he will be retiring at the end of the current season as he will be 34 years old and will not be able to play at a high level at such an advanced age, so this season is most likely going to be the last one of Ibrahimovic as he has intentions of hanging up his boots.

Thiago Silva is his teammate in PSG and the captain has revealed his desire to lift the Champions League title not only for himself and for his club but more importantly for his colleague Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

He said: "I hope he can finish his career with a Champions League title. It's his dream, and our dream. I would do everything possible to help him win the Champions League."

Neither PSG, Thiago Silva or Zlatan Ibrahimovic have managed to secure the Champions League and it will be a historic season if they are able to claim it in the final playing career year of Ibrahimovic.

PSG has advanced to the round of 16 and will be facing off against Chelsea on February 16. The 2nd leg is scheduled to take place on March 9.
